Marine Biology 2014

THESE ANNOUNCEMENTS ARE THE MOST ACCURATE IN TERMS OF TIMES – BE SURE TO READ THEM!

 

Scheduled Events for Today:

9:00 a.m. – Arthropoda Seminar (all first-year and IB students must attend)

9:30 a.m. – Excursion to Turtle Hospital (all second-year students must attend) – meet at the SPV

10:00 a.m. (Immediately following the Arthropoda seminar) – meeting with all IB students at the GC facility – have your workbook and all of your work on your final project with you

               

Excursion Announcements:

  • Eating groups should schedule excursions as needed for your group projects.  See Mr. or Mrs. Weaver if you need transportation.

 

General Announcements:

  1. Students are reminded that all work is due by the time we leave on Friday morning.
  2. If you want your bedding changed, you need to make sure that you don’t leave anything on the bed.  The hotel staff will not move your personal belongings.
  3. Austin Stieglitz cannot find his workbook.  If you see it, please return it to him/
  4. When working at the GC facility, please be sure to clean up after yourself.

 

Keeping Pace with Your Work – First-Year Students:

  1. Check the board outside of 110 and the GC building for today’s list.
  2. Five habitat profiles – GMF, Mangroves, Human-made, Coral reef, Rocky Coast
  3. Six seminar worksheets should be completed – Porifera, Cnidaria, Molluska, Annelida, Echinodermata, Arthropoda
  4. Five Ecological profiles completed (in addition to the one completed in Goshen)
  5. All algae classifications
  6. All water quality work (except for BOD & WQI)
  7. Group project should be well underway.

 

 

Keeping Pace with Your Work – IB Students:

  1. Check the board outside of 110 and the GC building for today’s list.
  2. Six seminar worksheets should be completed – Porifera, Cnidaria, Molluska, Annelida, Echinodermata, Arthropoda
  3. All Ecological profiles completed
  4. All water quality work (except for BOD & WQI)
  5. All of your data for your IA lab should be completed.  You should be working on the analysis of this data.
  6. Group project should be well underway.

 

Keeping Pace with Your Work – Second-Year Students:

  1. Your algae work should be complete.
  2. All of your data for your final project should be completed.  You should be working on the analysis of this data.  
  3. Your group projects should be well underway.
  4. You should complete an excursion journal for the Dry Tortugas and the Turtle Hospital.
  5. You should be working on collecting scavenger hunt items.

 

Chaperone reminders:

  • Arthropoda seminar:  Wolf
  • Photographers:  need at least one today
  • Evening tutoring at GC:  Ca. Weaver
  • Night duty:  Martinez, Mast, Patrick
